Walt Disney World

The Walt Disney World Resort, also known as the Walt Disney World and Disney World, is a resort in Bay Lake and Lake Buena Vista, Florida, USA, near the cities of Orlando and Kissimmee. Opened on October 1, 1971, the administration is owned and operated by Disney Parks, Experience and Products, a section of The Walt Disney Company. Launched Walt Disney World Company. The building covers approximately 25,000 hectares (39 sq mi; 101 km2), half of which is used. [3] The resort has four theme parks (including Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom), two water parks, 27 themed hotels, nine non-Disney hotels, many golf courses, a camping area, and more entertainment venues, including an outdoor shopping center for Disney Springs.

Designed to add Disneyland to Anaheim, California, which opened in 1955, the building was built by Walt Disney in the 1960s. The "Florida Project", as it was known, was intended to present a different view of its various attractions. Walt Disney's original plans also demanded the inclusion of the "Future Exploring Community" (EPCOT), a planned community aimed at becoming a new testing center for new urban dwellers. Walt Disney died on December 15, 1966, during the first planning. After his death, the company struggled with the idea of   whether it would bring success to the Disneyworld project. However, Walt's older brother, Roy, retired to ensure that Walt's dream come true. Construction began in 1967, with the company instead building a resort like Disneyland, abandoning the exploratory ideas of organized society. Magic Kingdom was the first opening park in this complex, in 1971, followed by Epcot (1982), Disney's Hollywood Studios (1989), and Disney's Animal Kingdom (1998). It was Roy who insisted that the name of the entire building be changed from Disneyworld to Walt Disney World, ensuring that people would remember that the project was Walt's dream.

In 2018, Walt Disney World was the most visited holiday destination in the world, with an annual attendance of over 58 million. In 2020, Walt Disney World was selected to host the NBA Bubble to play the 2019-20 NBA season to resume at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. In 2020, Disney World began retrenching 6,500 workers and began operating at 25% power after reopening the COVID-19 epidemic.
