Dragon's Back

 


Dragon's Back is a mountain fortress southeast of Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong past Shek O Peak. It is located inside Shek O Country Park. In 2019, Drag's Back Trail was selected by CNN as one of the world's 23 best trains. [1] Drag's Back is part of Section 8 of the Hong Kong Trail

Hong Kong's Country Parks do not have rubbish bins, so hikers are urged to hold on to their garbage until they leave Country ParksMountain hikers in Hong Kong tend to sit on the right side of the road when traveling.Try to reduce the volume of boombox music at least in Country Parks to allow everyone to enjoy the sounds of nature.

 

Big Wave Bay Beach (last point) and nearby Shek O Beach are two separate beaches. There is a short bus service that connects the two beaches.Some sections of the trail are rocky, so travelers should use appropriate footwear. Slippers and sandals are not recommended.

At Pottinger Gap, hikers can climb a mountain by taking the easy Potinger Peak Country Trail east for about 20 minutes and then make a 90 degree right open a newly developed 20-minute drive south to the Big Wave Wave Prehistoric Rock Carving.

From Shek O Road, you will start walking along the road that is blocked in this Hong Kong Trail area. About a minute on your ascent, the path will be open to the sky as you ascend. After 20 minutes or so, you will find yourself at Shek O Peninsula Viewing Point overlooking Shek O Beach at the foot of the hill, as well as two islands from the Shek O Peninsula.
