It is located in Bagerhat district in southern Bangladesh
which is within the division of Khulna. it's about 3 miles faraway from the
most town of Bagerhat. Bagerhat is almost 200 miles faraway from Dhaka which is
that the capital of Bangladesh.
The Shait - Gumbad Mosque that's Sixty Dome Mosque. The
length of the mosque is 160 feet and width is 108 feet. A Muslim colony was
founded within the unfriendly mangrove forest of the Sundarbans near the
coastline within the Bagerhat district by an obscure saint-General, named Khan
Jahan Ali. He preached in an affluent city during the reign of Sultan
Nasiruddin Mahmud Shah, then referred to as 'Khalifalabad'. the development of
the mosque was started in 1442 and it had been completed in 1459.

History of the War of Liberation During the war
of liberation in 1971 Bagerhat district was under sector 9. On 21 April the Pak
army killed about 200 persons at Khalishakhali and Babuganj bazars. Thirty five
freedom fighters were killed in an encounter between the liberty fighters and
therefore the rajakars at Morrelganj. The rajakars also killed quite 100 people
in Terabaka canal of Sarankhola upazila. On 3 May the Pak army killed 42
persons at Shakharikathi Hat in Badhal union of Kachua upazila. On May 21, the
rajakars killed many of us and set many homes ablaze in Rampal upazila. The Pak
army, together with the rajakars, captured 9 persons from village Mansha of
Bahirdia union of Fakirhat upazila on 25 August and 70 persons from Basha Bazar
of Moghia union of Kachua upazila on 15 October and killed all of them at an
area near Bhasarhat bridge. Besides, about 200 Pak soldiers including one
captain were killed during a battle between the liberty fighters and therefore
the Pak army at Chakulia (Charkulia) of Mollahat upazila.Newspapers and
